My Two Worlds: A 3D City Study

My Two Worlds is a LightWave project by Anjali Arora, presented as a final project for The Marriage of the Real & the Virtual. It brings together memories of Ahmedabad and the artist's experience of New York.

Ahmedabad in motion

The first part uses textures drawn from one of Arora's paintings. A drive through the street combines camera movement with sound: traffic and the bustle of modern life share the scene with cattle. The artist's description gives sound an active role in suggesting a place beyond what the image alone shows.

Two urban atmospheres

The project contrasts this warm, noisy street with the greyer, built-up environment of New York. Traffic connects the two settings, while their atmosphere differs. The comparison brings a painter's use of surface and colour into a moving, three-dimensional scene.

The archived project page below preserves Arora's explanation and references to the work in progress. It is the starting point for exploring the original presentation.
