An Edinburgh picture becomes a shared project record

The saved enlarged-photo mock-up places an image beside group, project, tags, audio and editing controls.

An abstract night-light image sits in a mount with three different contextual paper attachments.
New editorial illustration for the enlarged-photo record; not the historical Edinburgh image or a working interface.

The screen’s concrete example

The enlarged-photo page is headed with an Edinburgh night scene. It labels a project as IDG (25), supplies the tags night, lights and Edinburgh, and places an audio link beside the image. It also displays group members and a dated note. These are labels in a prototype example, not independently verified records of a real construction project or its participants.

One picture, several kinds of context

The screen is useful because it does not leave the photograph alone. Tags describe its subject; the project label gives it an organisational home; a note carries time and a contributor label. Controls for comments, editing and deletion sit nearby. That combination suggests a working record which can change after upload, rather than a finished gallery image.

The boundary of recovery

Static links and visible labels do not establish that audio playback, group permissions or deletion worked. This edition does not recreate those controls or republish the photograph. It preserves the example’s purpose and directs the reader to the fuller scenario, where the intended permissions and alternative browsing methods are actually explained.

Sources and edition note

This is new independent writing at the historical /itp/fall2004/ddp/archive_app/large.htm address. It reconnects the specific work or project described above. It does not claim byte-for-byte restoration, original browser behaviour, current artist representation or operation of an earlier service. Source images, documents and full texts remain at their archival sources.
